What Darwin-FIRST means by “cognitive objects”?
|
|
Darwin-FIRST is any net of i-Websites, so we have to define that meaning for its unit, the i-Website. i-Websites handle cognitive objects, defined as “atoms” of potential interest for their users. These atoms behave as pieces of information that could be “digested” by users either to satisfy their “curiosity” or to reduce their level of uncertainty. In this broad sense a hyperlink is one of such atoms, and also an item of a Catalog or a brief of an URL issued by a search engine are atoms. They are considered atoms, cognitive atoms in this case, because they are not divisible, they are units of information built by the i-Website owners as an offer to satisfy their users’ potential interest demand.
